What is Blå Veje (Blue Ways)?
Blå Veje is an educational vision and project, where the aim is to create a new school and kindergarten based on a template of the “World Citizen”. Blå Veje’s focus and core values are the Human, Nature and the Future.
What is a World Citizen according to Blå Veje?
A world citizen is a person who understands themselves as a citizen many communities, the national, which it is born into and grows up in, and at the same time, the universal, to which it belongs purely by virtue of belonging to humanity. A world citizen is a person with a strong foundation in natural principles with an understanding of themselves through the different societies of life, humanity and the universal. Every human is born into this complex arrangement of national and international communities and must learn to accept the rights/duties of both. This prepares the individual for a life filled with human possibility, creative potential and responsibility for themselves. We live in a globalised, international world, and the children’s daily lives should be anchored through all aspects of life.

What makes Blå Veje different to other schools?
Blå Veje tries to encompass the whole human. We perceive school as a University for Life. Our pedagogy is built around a template for the World Citizen, and we have 3 pedagogical/educational pillars, which is the fundament for a holistic, developing and versatile approach to learning and education.

The Bigger Vision
At Blå Veje we love the natural wonder and the bigger questions that live in humans. Who are we? What can we do? Where do we come from? Where is our place in the world? Where is our place in society? How does society work? What is the human’s place in nature? And how do we prepare for the future?
We may be further from the answers to these questions than we realise as humankind, but it is the wonder itself which Blå Veje sees as most important. The three educational pillars Blå Veje is based on supports children and young people to live in this wonder, seize the life they have gained and unfold the potential they have - so that they can be the best version of themselves as they can be.
The big vision is a place of learning for people in all phases of life. Not only a school but also a kindergarden and eventually a boarding school and a college. We want to create a vibrant, effective, visionary learning environment, and see a great potential in the interaction that might arise in such a place - between young and old.
Basically, there are many challenges today that are new to everyone regardless of age, which requires us to think out of the box as humans, which comes naturally to children and young people.
Conversely, children and young people need more than ever the presence and confidence of adults around them who can set an example and provide the care that children and young people need so that they can thrive and grow.
We dream of creating a place where teachers, parents, grandparents and other adults and interested people can come and renew themselves in the process of life's great questions. At Blå Veje we ultimately want to create a natural and inspiring learning environment for people of all ages, where together we can wonder and create greater meaning and coherence in life.
Every dream starts with the first step, and that is what we are looking for now with the opening of a school.
